This course is designed to qualify you to use enriched air “nitrox,” enabling more no stop bottom time during your dives. You are trained in the use of enriched air with 22 percent to 40 percent oxygen. There is an emphasis on enriched air with 32 and 36 percent oxygen as these are popular blends.

Required age/certification level

Minimum age:  15 years old and Padi Open Water Diver certification, or have a qualifying certification from another organization.  (Enriched air dive one can be conducted at the same time as open water dive four.)

You will also learn about the special equipment requirements for nitrox diving and how to care for that equipment.  How to manage and avoid possible enriched air hazards and  apply the benefits of enriched air for recreational diving.
